Change
By Melissa Dunphy, with input from the singers of Lake Superior Youth Chorus
Every time we plant a tree, we change the world.
Every time we make a friend, we change the world.
Every time we see what other people need
and accept them for who they are,
The world becomes a better place.
When we comfort the sick, we change the world.
When we say, “I love you,” we change the world.
When we reach out with kindness and a willingness to learn,
when we take care of others and work toward justice,
when we smile,
the world becomes a better place.
It can be hard to see the change
when you’re too tired to open your eyes.
It can be hard to stand up and fight
when others don’t believe.
But if you touch one person’s life,
if you take the time to care,
if you find a moment of joy
and spread it around, the world will change.
It will be okay. It's going to be okay.
We will change the world.
We will change.
